Divine Frequency parry

Duel flashes: the September update supersedes the June complaint

The flash now marks the window opening, according to the project lead. The 28 September 2026 follow-up says the adjustment is done and the flash only appears when the window opens. It also places an option to extend the attack window in the Accessibility Option menu. This is one developer confirmation, not an independently measured frame count.

Earlier in that same thread, the player described the June demo flash as too late and the developer discussed a possible change. The September completion reply supersedes that plan. Do not use the earlier complaint as the timing rule for the updated game.

  • 1. For the updated duel cue described by the project lead, watch for the flash as the opening begins; fire during the opening instead of treating the flash as a “too late” warning.
  • 2. If the timing is difficult, open the Accessibility options and look for the setting that extends the attack window. The September reply identifies this menu, but does not repeat the setting label.
  • 3. On an older demo menu, the same developer’s 19 June reply gives Options → Gameplay → Extended Counter Attack window. That older path is dated guidance, not a claim that the updated menu still uses it.

Fist parry

In a 16 October 2026 reply, the project lead says fists can parry all melee attacks once Strength reaches level 2, with the qualifier “iirc.” The reply explicitly says these features are available in Early Access. It does not add a Low Vibration-only restriction, specify the input, or give timing frames.

To work toward that reported requirement, follow the Strength progression steps. For the actual fist action, consult your current control bindings: the cited reply does not establish whether a punch, block, or another input performs it, so no button sequence is supplied here.

Gun counter and the older Wits wording

An 18 August 2024 demo-era reply, currently displayed under Indian Street Food, describes a shotgun shot during an enemy melee as a counter with high critical damage. The contributor presents broader use of that mechanic as something being experimented with. It is historical discussion evidence, not confirmation that every Early Access enemy has the same counter window.

The official 7 November 2023 demo patch describes stronger visual feedback for Parry Window detection during duels, followed by “Wits exclusive.” That wording concerns a dated feedback change; it is not enough to declare every parry or duel counter Wits-only in the current release. The patch is in the official Steam news API, item 5288974951225571912.

Questions

Can you parry in Divine Frequency?

The project lead confirmed updated duel-window flashes on 28 September 2026 and separately recalled fist parries at Strength 2 on 16 October. The fist statement is qualified by “iirc”; it does not name the input or impose a Low Vibration-only condition.

What do the yellow flashes mean?

The project lead’s 28 September 2026 follow-up says the adjustment is done: the flash appears when the window opens. It also names the Accessibility Option menu for extending the window. Earlier June complaints describe the older behavior.
