What happened to the Divine Frequency Doom mod?

Divine Frequency began as a Doom II total conversion, documented by PCGamesN in August 2022 and PC Gamer in January 2024. The site research records an archived ModDB deletion notice. What the original mod was

PCGamesN’s 11 August 2022 article covers a playable ModDB demo and names GenghisKhan1109 working with Hellforge Studios. That article is the single directly accessible source for this 2022 date in the present review. A September 2023 ModDB archive was readable in the first pass, identifying a Doom II mod with release TBD; a later request was rate-limited. TheGamer’s cited August 2022 article could not be retrieved during the recheck and is not counted as independent confirmation. No 2021 launch date is established here.

From mod to Steam

PC Gamer (8 January 2024) calls it a former mod project that put a Steam demo out around Realms Deep 2023, built in the Doom engine. The Steam demo app is dated 25 October 2023. Early Access followed in late October 2026. See release date for the 26-versus-27 split.

Why you cannot download the WAD here

Single archived source: the preceding research record cites 19 April 2025 as a ModDB deletion snapshot. On 2026-10-29, this review received HTTP 429 from that archive and 403 from live ModDB, so it could not independently refresh that notice or establish a reason for deletion.
